This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, that is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller competitions with this card because it’s only a Fight Night card using lesser known title, but there’s still well over $100k to be obtained. I will be pursuing my fair share of that money and I hope you guys will be . Listed below are a few plays I enjoy this weekend and my fade of the week.
Cash Game play of the week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” drama on this particular card and his -300 gaming lineup would concur with me. That’s where I will be starting my lineup this week and I will figure the rest out from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he’s got a ton of upside as well. He could potential score more than two other winners on this card combined. I do think he’s in play for GPPs too for that reason, but he will likely be the most peculiar owned fighter on the card and we don’t care about possession as much in cash games. I would suggest paying for the expensive cost in your money games and I then search for at least 3 others wins you’re confident in.
GPP drama of this week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to be the way better striker in this struggle and I believe that is where the battle will occur. He could get KO’d in the opening seconds of the battle and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP drama in lieu of a money match play. With these two Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO within the 25-minues and that I feel the former champion, JDS, will be the one to get it. He’s got good takedown defense so he should be able to keep this fight on the toes where he will have a 4-inch reach benefit to use.
Underdog play of the week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to be my underdog play of the week. The odds indicate that the fight should be rather close and there is a good possibility he utilizes his wrestling to obtain the benefit. In 5 fights that he has not seen a decision yet, and there is a possibility it remains that way if he gets Brown to the ground. Niko includes some slick submissions in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the benefit with his achieve, but Cost does have any sneaky power too, which can’t be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of this week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he’s just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will require a end to have a shot at paying off that expensive salary and that I do not wish to invest in that, personally. He has never landed greater than 1 takedown in a fight and Wineland has excellent takedown defense, therefore we should see this battle occur on the toes. I think Perez needs to be the one to receive his hand raised in the end but I think that it’s going to be through decision. If that’s true then he can score ~60 points in a win, and at $9.1k that is not likely to win anybody a championship. I’ll be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he does not get the end and he’s my official fade of the week.
